Gambling Addiction Counselor training scholarships are now available from the state Office of Behavioral Health through the Center for Governmental Training. The funding shall be awarded as grants/scholarships to behavioral health professionals and addiction counselors who wish to pursue national certification as a gambling counselor.

To apply for a grant to help complete the certification process, applicants shall meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field
- A minimum of fifteen (15) hours of approved gambling specific training or education
- A minimum of fifty (50) hours as a gambling counselor delivering direct treatment to problem/pathological gamblers and significant others
- A minimum of two (2) one-hour sessions of approved Supervision/consultation with an International Gambling Counselor Board Approved Clinical Consultant (BACC)
